This is the sanitized version of the disembarkation process off Carnival Splendor in October of 2022 Circular Quay in Sydney When I was on Carnival Splendor in October of 2022 it was actually a conference cruise. I was really was quite busy for most of the time, so when the information came for disembarkation it was a busy two-page document. I will do screenshots of it here and there. It indicated that if you need assistance, go down to guest services and organize assistance. It just implied that you were going to be carrying off your luggage yourself. It did not give you any other option other than if you have mobility issues to get your luggage transferred off the boat to the dock. On the evening before disembarkation, I noticed that the porters were collecting the luggage from the corridor in the same way I had done before by putting you luggage outside my cabin. There were no tags that I could see on any of the bags, like there would have been in the past, for example, yellow 1 or yellow 5. These tags would tell you where you collected your bags when the stevedores had put your luggage onto the dock. I didn't see anything like that, so I asked the guy, when was the last time that they can pick up the luggage? He said 11 o'clock. This was about 10 o'clock in the evening so I set to preparing my luggage to set it outside. Not long after I had set the luggage outside there was a knock on the door and they said you don't have any tags on luggage so they wouldn't take it. It was close to 11 o'clock and they weren't going to be taking any more luggage. We re-read the information sheet and nowhere on the information sheet did it say able-bodied people who did not want to do a walk-off with their own luggage had to go down to customer service and get a tag for their luggage so that it can be taken off by the stevedores. So when it came to disembarkation day we left our luggage in the room after we asked our stateroom attendant to ensure that was okay. We received a hard copy of our our spending on the boat in our mailbox at our stateroom door. We knew that we had spent all of the money that we had allocated. We had $500 credit on board which we used that so that wasn't an issue. We knew that our tab was all paid and we didn't have any other surprises waiting for us. We went up to the buffet for breakfast. We went back to the stateroom to collect our luggage and we went to the public space ready for disembarkation. We sat and waited for our disembarkation number to be called. Basically the way that they are disembarking on Carnival Splendor is via your allocated muster station. Your muster station designation was called and then you disembark. We waited as they called A through C to be called for our time to disembark. We were muster station D, The gathering place which was the theatre. The Splendor theatre is a multi-leveled area, which becomes crowded with everyone with their luggage. Here people waited and they queued so that they could be guided out at different times by one of the Youth Workers. They guided them either way to round the staircase and a huge silver pole. I will leave that for another video that'll be the unsantised version. There was a stream of bodies with their luggage over a few hours moving off the boat. A lot of people who had their bags that were being carried, they didn't have luggage with wheels on them. This is why I think that people were not aware that they would have to take off their own luggage. There was a small amount of assistance from shore workers to assist wheelchair users. It is quiet a distance to get off the boat. It must have been a difficult morning. We waited for the final call about 9am for all remaining passengers to disembark the ship. Security scanned our Sail & Sign cards and bid us farewell as we disembarked. It was a fairly easy process because there wasn't too many people and we had luggage on wheels that was easy to roll away. This is the sanitized version of the disembarkation process, I'm going to do another video which the unsanitized version of the disembarkation process. If you want to watch that one, fine go right ahead, be warmed it may offend you. Stay safe everybody and have a happy travels Edited by VideoGuru:https://videoguru.page.link/Best
