What to wear for an excursion in Antarctica
"If you have no idea what to pack or wear for an excursion in Antarctica and want to avoid being wet, cold ... well this video is for you!" 👉🏼 Share this with your #Antarctica travel buddies. Antarctic weather can change rapidly, so layers are key! This is what I wore and I was never cold: - thermal base layers - ski socks - mid layer fleece; we both wore @rab.equipment @rab.equipment.uk - ski pants (I wore extra pair of waterproof trousers over these for the rainy/snowy zodiac cruises) - Swan Hellenic Parka which is a 2 in one jacket! It includes a puffer and waterproof shell & is comparable to a good ski jacket. - glove liners (to take photos/use your phone) - waterproof gloves - trust me you’ll need these!! - neck buff & hat/beanie - sunglasses 😎 don’t underestimate the glare even on cloudy days! - life jacket - mandatory & will be provided by the cruise company - Swan Hellenic drybag - for extra layers & to keep my camera dry! - camera 📷 - Swan Hellenic muck boots (not in video), you’ll be fitted for these on your first day on board Message us on @sarahandfraser if you have any Antarctica-related questions, and if you’re planning an expedition with @swanhelleniccruises, drop us a message we can get you a couple of extra onboard perks 😌
