Olympia, Greece Cruise Excursion the Birthplace of the Olympics
Join us on our cruise excursion to Olympia, Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. During our Mediterranean cruise aboard the Norwegian Epic, we traveled from the Katakolon cruise port through the peaceful countryside of western Greece to visit Ancient Olympia, where the first Olympic Games were held over 2,800 years ago. In this video, we explore the archaeological site, walk through the ancient stadium, visit the Temple of Hera where the Olympic flame is still lit today, and tour the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. We also share our thoughts on the excursion experience, including the bus ride, pacing of the tour, and what surprised us most about visiting this historic location.
