Longtime Platinum cruisers are logging into their accounts and seeing: ⚪ Current Status: PLATINUM through December 31, 2028 But when they look at their 2029–2030 Status Journey... 🟡 YOU ARE HERE: GOLD Wait...WHAT?! 😳 Don't panic. Carnival isn't demoting Platinum cruisers today. Legacy Platinum status is protected through the end of 2028. However, Carnival Rewards is now showing cruisers where they currently stand toward their 2029–2030 status—and legacy Platinum members need to earn another 40,000 Status Qualifying Stars to requalify for Platinum. For longtime Carnival cruisers, that's something they've never really experienced before. Under VIFP, once you earned Platinum, you stayed Platinum. Under Carnival Rewards, you can potentially move BACKWARD.
