Original video credit: IG/@_manaisaiah. On April 4, 2026, MV Fiji Princess was involved in an incident off the coast of Fiji while anchored near reef waters. A sudden squall moved through the area, bringing strong winds and rough seas. The weather change happened quickly and made conditions unsafe for a vessel that was holding position at anchor. Under the force of wind and waves, the anchor began to drag, meaning it lost its grip on the seabed. Once the ship started drifting, it was pushed toward a nearby reef. In shallow waters like this, there is very little room to recover when a vessel loses control, and the ship eventually ran aground on the coral reef. Despite the situation, all passengers and crew were safely evacuated without reported injuries. After incidents like this, authorities and operators typically assess the vessel for damage and check the surrounding reef area for environmental impact. No copyright infringement intended.
