Ilhabela Waterfalls & 4x4 Jungle Trek + Beach Stop | Regent Seven Seas Splendor | South America Ep.5

In Episode 4 of our South America cruise series, we arrive in the beautiful island port of Ilhabela, Brazil aboard the luxurious Seven Seas Splendor with Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Ilhabela literally translates to “Beautiful Island” and it’s easy to see why. The island is home to over 300 waterfalls, so we booked one of the included Regent excursions – a 4x4 jungle trek to the Three Tombos Waterfalls followed by a beach stop. This excursion turned out to be one of the adventures we were most excited about on this cruise, but the rugged terrain, intense humidity, and rainforest conditions made it more challenging than expected for some guests. Our guide even warned us about poisonous caterpillars and stinging insects that can hide on the park grab rails! After exploring the waterfalls, we were taken to a local beach to relax before heading back to the ship. Later that evening, we return to Compass Rose, share some honest thoughts about dinner, and end the night relaxing onboard. In the next episode, we visit Santos, explore the park, tour the Coffee Museum, and somehow manage to keep the ship rocking until 3am… apparently setting a bit of a record onboard!
