Cruise news today. Norwegian Cruise Line is scrapping over 53cruises in a major shakeup of its 2026–2027 schedule. The changes affect four ships: Norwegian Gem, Dawn, Getaway, and Joy. As the cruise line adjusts homeports and redeploys ships for operational efficiency and more varied itineraries. A cruise passenger from India was fined in Saint John, New Brunswick, after failing to declare more than $23,000 in cash. Canadian law requires travelers to report any amount over 10,000 Canadian dollars when entering the country. Border agents discovered the undeclared cash during a routine inspection. Princess Cruises has named Matthew and Camila McConaughey as godparents of its newest ship, the Star Princess. The celebrity couple will christen the vessel in Fort Lauderdale on November 6th, one day before its maiden U.S. sailing. Cruise lines are rerouting ships in response to Hurricanes Humberto and Imelda. Norwegian Escape, originally bound for the Caribbean, has shifted to New England and Bermuda to avoid dangerous weather.
