The Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is now the tallest church in the world — and we went inside. Designed by Antoni Gaudí, this basilica reached its full height of 172.5 meters (566 feet) in 2026 after 144 years of construction, officially becoming the tallest church on the planet. Inside, the stained glass is unreal, and Gaudí designed the columns to resemble trees — so the whole space feels like a giant stone forest. The entire building is designed to symbolize the life of Christ. We went up the Passion Tower for the views over central Barcelona — just be ready for the climb down: around 400 steps in a narrow, winding staircase. (Chris's shoulders barely fit!)
