This would've been so much cheaper 😭 Part 16 of our Vietnam series 🇻🇳 We booked a 2 day, 1 night Ha Long Bay cruise. It is located only 2 hours from Hanoi, and we were super excited to explore caves and islands while seeing the beautiful landscapes along the waters 🏝 The experience wasn't cheap though. We booked our experience on Klook, thinking it would be best to book early and that staying overnight on the cruise ship could be a fun experience. And that ended up costing us about ~$160 per person for a 5 star cruise (our booking did include transportation to and from Hanoi at least and meals on the ship) 😱 However, when we got to the port, we had some downtime before boarding our cruise ship, so we talked with the ticket counter. It turns out you can book a day of cruise that has the same itinerary as the overnight cruises. And all for a fraction of the price! 🤑 The price ultimately ranges depending on if you go with a 3, 4, or 5 star cruise ship, but even on the upper end, we got prices quoted for 900K VND or lower at the ticket counter (under $35) 💸 With the difference only being the fact that you sleep on the boat and you get an extra meal or two, we would’ve much rather saved the money and done a day of cruise for cheaper 🛳 If you want to plan more ahead of time though or are going with a bigger group, you might still want to book ahead just to secure spots on your specific date.
