Is dog sledding in Skagway, Alaska worth it? 🐾 Join us as we head off on an unforgettable adventure from Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas to experience an authentic Alaskan musher camp! After arriving in Skagway, we booked this excursion independently and were picked up right from the cruise port. From there, we enjoyed a scenic 30-minute drive to base camp before climbing even higher into the mountains aboard a rugged Unimog for another 30 minutes. At the top, we were greeted by dozens of enthusiastic sled dogs, all eagerly waiting for their chance to run. Watching these incredible athletes in action was an experience in itself! We then hopped aboard the sled for an exhilarating ride through the stunning Alaskan wilderness. While the ride itself lasted around 10 minutes, including a short stop along the way, the entire experience offered so much more. After the sled ride, we spent time meeting the adorable puppies and younger dogs in training, learning about the life of a musher and how these amazing dogs are raised and cared for. We finished the tour with a peaceful walk down to a nearby stream, where we were lucky enough to see salmon making their way upstream.
