"O TAHITI E" aboard Regent Seven Seas Mariner cruise ship on February 10, 2020
We were treated to an outstanding performance by the award-winning O TAHITI E dance company during the last evening of our 18-day cruise from San Francisco to Tahiti aboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises' Seven Seas Mariner. Our Cruise Director introduces the show in the Constellation Theater. Founded in 1986 by its creator Marguerite Lai, O TAHITI E refers to the former name of the island of Tahiti or 'Otaiti' found in the maps of the first navigators. In 1997, encompassing over 150 artists, O TAHITI E made its own path through the history of the 'Heiva', the popular annual competition of traditional dance and singing. They have won several times enhancing a wave of modernity in the shackles of a hundred-year-old dance competition of Polynesian culture. Tonight, O TAHITI E bring their sensual, empowering and most beautiful performance to the Seven Seas Mariner.
