24-hour itinerary for Rome, Italy (for first time visitors)
Only have 24 hours in Rome? 🇮🇹 Here’s how I’d spend them. https://bucketlistjourney.net/one-day-rome-itinerary/ We had limited time in Rome before boarding our Mediterranean cruise with @hollandamericaline, so I wanted to see as much as possible. This itinerary hits a LOT: ▪️Coffee with a Colosseum view at La Biga (you’re pretty much only here for the view, so don’t plan a full breakfast) @labigacolosseo ▪️Tour the Colosseum + Roman Forum (get tickets in advance!) ▪️Walk the Spanish Steps (if you wake up really early, do this and Trevi Fountain before the Colosseum opens) ▪️Throw a coin in Trevi Fountain (note that after 9am, they start charging 2 Euros to get into the basin area) ▪️Roman lunch at Pane e Salame (get the ginormous charcuterie board!) @panesalameroma ▪️Gelato at Pompi (they have other desserts too, like tiramisu) ▪️See the Pantheon ▪️Walk through Piazza Navona ▪️Visit Castel Sant’Angelo @castelsantangelo ▪️Optional Vatican Museums (they’re amazing, but will definitely make the itinerary fast paced) @vaticanmuseums ▪️Aperitivo in Trastevere (we went to the VERY popular Bar San Calisto, but next time I’d go to Da Biagio Vini e Oli) ▪️Dinner in Testaccio at MASTO (don’t skip the tiramisu!) @mastotestaccio. You could also stay in Trastevere for dinner, they have tons of restaurants, we enjoyed @tonnarellofficial And here's the thing: you do NOT have to do it all. This is the full, ambitious version for first-timers who want to check off as many major Rome sights as possible. If you prefer a slower day, simply remove a stop or two. I'd rather you skip something than spend your entire Roman holiday watching the clock. … Follow @bucketlistjourney for more travel tips & inspiration + bucket list ideas #romeitaly | Things to do in Rome
