This tour is completely free, with tips appreciated — and honestly, it’s worth far more than you’ll give. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Montevideo. After the tour, we headed to the iconic Mercado del Puerto for a traditional asado lunch, soaking up the smoky aromas and lively atmosphere. We also visited the Museo del Gaucho y de la Moneda, a fascinating look into Uruguay’s cowboy heritage and national identity. The day ended with one of the most breathtaking sunsets over the harbour as our ship sailed away — a perfect finish to a perfect day in Uruguay’s capital.
