The giant ship from Norwegian Cruise Line is leaving from Louisiana and doing round trips of seven nights each visiting some of the gorgeous tropical spots in the region, like Mexico, Honduras, and Belize. The initial voyage of the year took off on October 25, 2025, and it started a busy schedule that will last till mid-May. The gigantic ship of 164,000 tons will make stops each time at Cozumel, Roatán, Costa Maya, and Harvest Caye—Norwegian’s exclusive island in Belize—during the whole week. In the next half a year, the ship Norwegian Escape will sail on 24 Caribbean Western itineraries, thus giving the tourists more chances to visit the region. To top it off, the program is also consisting of two longer 14-night cruises in February that will take the guests to George Town (Cayman Islands), Puerto Limón (Costa Rica), and Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) among others. The transfer of the ship to New Orleans took place after the 14-night cruise departing from NYC. Initially, the cruise was to visit eight Caribbean ports but due to an engine failure that resulted in the ship’s speed reduction, it was changed. The result was that two ports were taken out and one was introduced. The modified itinerary took the Norwegian Escape to the Virgin Islands of St. Thomas, the capital of Curacao—Willemstad, Aruba—Oranjestad, and Mexico—Cozumel, with an additional visit to Puerto Plata and Cabo Rojo in the Dominican Republic, as well as Falmouth in Jamaica. After its winter deployment is over, the ship will move to Miami in May and have a series of summer cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas before eventually going north for the fall season in the Northeast.
