There’s a brand new style to draw Mickey Mouse at the Animation Academy inside Disney California Adventure Park! In this video we head into Animation Academy at Disney California Adventure in the Disneyland Resort to learn how to draw the new style of Mickey Mouse alongside a Disney artist in one of the most relaxing and underrated experiences at the resort. Animation Academy has always been one of our favorite hidden gems because it gives guests a chance to slow down, sit in air conditioning, and learn how Disney artists bring iconic characters to life step-by-step. But seeing the updated Mickey art style being taught made this experience feel fresh and exciting all over again. In this video: ✏️ Full Animation Academy drawing session 🐭 Learning the new Mickey Mouse style 🎨 Disney artist drawing tips and techniques 👀 Our final drawings ✨ Atmosphere inside Animation Academy 🏰 Disney California Adventure fun One of the coolest parts about Animation Academy is that every session is a little different depending on the artist teaching and the character being featured. Watching a blank page slowly turn into Mickey Mouse step-by-step honestly feels surprisingly magical no matter how old you are. The updated Mickey style also gives the drawings a more modern animated look while still keeping all the classic Mickey charm Disney fans know and love. It was really fun seeing how a few simple shape changes completely transformed the final drawing style. And honestly… this might still be one of the BEST free experiences at the Disneyland Resort. Not only do you get a relaxing break from the crowds and heat, but you also leave with your own Disney artwork souvenir at the end of the class. If you’ve never tried Animation Academy before, this is absolutely something worth adding to your Disney California Adventure day — especially if you love Disney animation, classic characters, or creative experiences inside the parks.
