The ship’s itinerary has been revised to ensure the safety of guests and crew while still maintaining its scheduled visits to the Mexican Riviera. The ship set sail from Long Beach on Thursday, September 4, 2025, for a five-night cruise. Instead of following the original plan, the ports of call will now be visited in reverse order. This adjustment was made after careful review by Carnival’s Fleet Operations Center. In a statement shared with passengers, Carnival explained that the storm’s path required changes to keep the vessel at a safe distance from weather conditions. The company emphasized that the decision was taken not only for safety but also to provide a smoother and more enjoyable experience ashore. As part of the changes, the call to Ensenada has been moved forward. Originally scheduled for Monday, September 8, the visit will now take place earlier, on Friday, September 5. Meanwhile, Cabo San Lucas, which was initially set for Friday, has been shifted to Sunday, September 7. Aside from these two port calls, guests will also enjoy two days at sea while sailing the Pacific Ocean. The ship is still expected to return to its homeport of Long Beach as originally planned on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Carnival issued an apology for the disruption, reassuring guests that the changes were made strictly with safety in mind. The company also confirmed that any pre-purchased shore excursions booked through Carnival will be automatically adjusted to fit the new schedule. The Carnival Firenze, built in 2021, sails year-round from Long Beach. It usually offers four- to six-night cruises visiting destinations in Baja California and the Mexican Riviera. Looking ahead, the 4,232-passenger vessel is also preparing for new deployments. Starting in the winter of 2026-27, the ship will reposition for a variety of itineraries, including voyages through South America and cruises to the Southern Caribbean from PortMiami. Before that, in May 2026, the Firenze is scheduled to make its way to New York City, where it will operate a summer season of cruises from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.
