New York Carnival Week 2026, put on by the West Indian American Day Carnival Association, is celebrating its 59th year, and it runs September 3rd through 7th. It's five full days of Caribbean culture, music, and food across Brooklyn, all building up to the big Labor Day parade. Here’s a quick breakdown of the week: Thursday, September 3rd is the official kick-off. Friday the 4th is night crawls, cultural bus tours, and visits to local Mas Camps with steel pan orchestras. Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th bring the major regional fetes, boat cruises, and family-friendly community showcases. And on Monday, September 7th, Labor Day, it all builds up to the flagship West Indian-American Day Carnival Parade. It kicks off around 10 AM along Eastern Parkway, stretching from Utica Avenue all the way to Grand Army Plaza in Crown Heights, and it is an absolute sensory explosion — elaborate costumes, live soca and reggae, and Caribbean food vendors lining the whole route. Millions of people show up for this one, so if you're going, get there early and wear comfortable shoes.
