SS Sir Walter Scott
Steamship Sir Walter Scott was built by William Denny and Brothers of Dumbarton in 1899. She was assembled with bolts and nuts at the shipyard, launched and undertook performance trials on the River Clyde. The steamer was dismantled and transported in sections by barge and horse-drawn carriages to Loch Katrine, where she was reassembled to begin service in 1900. The small steamship has provided pleasure cruises and a ferry service on Loch Katrine for more than a century, and is the only surviving screw steamer in regular passenger service in Scotland. © Thomas Flynn - All footage uploaded to the channel is filmed by me and is copyrighted.
