Survival at Sea - Abandon Ship in the Middle of the Pacific Ocean - Could You Survive?
On November 11th, 2009, Captain Chris Miller triggered the EPIRB on the F/V Pacific Star after fighting a storm for 2 days. Within 3 hours, a USCG C-130 Rescue Plane was flying overhead at his location 500 miles Northeast of the Hawaiian Islands at 03:00 on November 12th, 2009. The Coast Guard informed Chris that there were no boats in the area that could rescue him and his crew, but that a cruise ship could be on his position by 12 noon.
