Gas plant to power cruise ships could be built near Merritt Island neighborhood

Some have serious concerns about where an energy company wants to build a plant to fuel the world’s busiest cruise port. The liquefied natural gas plant wouldn’t be built at Port Canaveral. Its proposed location would be close to a large neighborhood in Merritt Island. The port just reclaimed the title as the world’s busiest cruise port, and to power all those big ships, the port needs more LNG.
