Norwegian Jade vs Luna: 20 Years of Change
What happens when you compare a cruise ship from 2006 to one built 20 years later? After sailing aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's brand-new Norwegian Luna, we realized something incredible—our previous cruise was on the Norwegian Jade, originally launched in 2006 as the Pride of Hawaii. That's a perfect 20-year gap! So we climbed into our "time machine" (okay... the elevator) and traveled back to see just how much cruising has changed. From paper daily planners to smartphone apps... flip phones to AI... simple pool decks to amusement park-style attractions... we'll compare what life was like aboard an NCL ship in 2006 versus today. In this video we'll explore: The cruise experience then vs. now Pride of Hawaii (Norwegian Jade) vs. Norwegian Luna Dining and specialty restaurants Bars, lounges, and nightlife Entertainment and activities Staterooms and technology How cruise technology has evolved Outdoor spaces, photo opportunities, and today's "pay-to-play" experiences And... what cruising might look like in 2046! Has cruising become better over the past 20 years, or have we lost some of the simplicity that made cruising so special? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
