How to Do the Same Honeymoon Beach Day for $100 Instead of $240 in St. Thomas 👀 Here’s a little money-saving tip we learned AFTER booking the Escape to Water Island excursion through the cruise line. 😂 The cruise line charges $119.99 per person, so for ChiChi and me that’s basically $240. But you could put together essentially the same Honeymoon Beach day on your own for about $100 total: $40 round-trip water taxi $30 for two beach chairs + an umbrella $30 for two sets of snorkeling gear Total: $100. That’s about $140 less, or almost 60% savings. Now, there is one VERY important difference. If you book through the cruise line and something delays the excursion, you have the protection of being on a ship-sponsored excursion. If you go independently, the ship is not waiting for you if you come back late. So give yourself plenty of time and don’t cut it close. For us, this looked like a very straightforward way to save a substantial amount of money, and knowing what I know now, I’d seriously consider doing Honeymoon Beach independently next time.
