Why Travel Advisors Don’t Spend Hours Planning Trips
Travel has never been easier to book. But has it actually become harder to book well? AI. Google. YouTube. Reviews. Facebook groups. We have more travel information available to us than ever before, but more information doesn’t necessarily mean better information. After working with hundreds of travellers, travelling extensively ourselves, to over 94 countries, all 7 continents and on 35 cruises / expeditions, and building relationships with hotels, cruise lines and travel partners around the world, I’ve realized something: Knowing where to look and who to trust is incredibly valuable. And that’s really what a great travel advisor should do. We filter the noise. Verify the information. Know you well enough to understand what actually fits you. Find opportunities and added amenities you may not have access to yourself. And most importantly, be there when something doesn’t go according to plan. Maybe you’ve always planned great vacations yourself. But how many hours did it take you? And maybe the bigger question is… Could your travels have been even better?
