With only 24 hours in Vancouver before boarding our very first cruise to Alaska, we hit the ground running! This was our first time visiting the city and we had our baby and the grandparents in tow. So, what exactly can you do with 1 day in Vancouver? We managed to hit up some of the city's main attractions like Gastown, which is the oldest neighbourhood in the city, we got to see the Port of Vancouver by boat, we enjoyed a fish and chips meal at Lonsdale Quay, and we visited Stanley Park in search of totem poles. We also made use of Vancouver's transportation system by getting a day pass, which gave us access to the SkyTrain, the SeaBus, and the city's bus system. This is our mini travel guide to Vancouver in one day. We hope you enjoy it and we'll see you in the next video as we begin the journey north to Alaska! #vancouver #vancity 🌟 24 Hours in Vancouver, Canada: Family Guide | SkyTrain, Gastown, Stanley Park & SeaBus Adventure 🌟 Welcome to our ultimate 24-hour family travel guide exploring Vancouver, British Columbia! 🌲✨ Traveling with a baby and grandparents, our challenge was to discover Vancouver’s best attractions, local eats, and stunning natural views, all in just one day. This detailed itinerary includes helpful tips, memorable highlights, and essential information for making the most of Vancouver using public transportation. 🗺️ Morning Adventures: Getting Around Vancouver 🚉 SkyTrain from Lansdowne Station Kickstarted our day using Vancouver’s SkyTrain at Lansdowne Station. Highly recommend purchasing the Day Pass ($11 CAD) for unlimited travel—a fantastic deal for efficient sightseeing! Daniel's first ride on the driverless train wasn't smooth, experiencing dizziness—important consideration if sensitive to motion. ⏰ Gastown and the Famous Steam Clock Arrived in historic Gastown to visit its iconic Steam Clock. Witnessed the charming spectacle every 15 minutes, as steam powers its melodic whistle—a must-see tourist attraction! 🎶⏰ 🌊 Afternoon by the Sea: Crossing Burrard Inlet 🚢 Scenic SeaBus Ride to Lonsdale Quay Enjoyed breathtaking views aboard Vancouver’s SeaBus, included in our Day Pass. Stunning panoramas of downtown, mountains, and seaplanes—a quick, scenic 15-minute journey, reminiscent of Hong Kong’s Star Ferry. 🛥️ 🌅 Exploring Lonsdale Quay & Local Insights Explored Lonsdale Quay, appreciating Vancouver’s unique blend of ocean and mountain landscapes. Shared insights on Vancouver’s high cost of living, skyrocketing real estate, and rainy weather—important pros and cons to consider. 🍴 Delicious Lunch by the Port 🐟 Fish & Chips at Lonsdale Quay Indulged in fresh, crispy beer-battered cod fish & chips. Each plate was $24 CAD—great value for quality seafood in a prime waterfront location. 🍟 🌲 Afternoon Excursion: Stanley Park Highlights 🚍 Journey to Stanley Park Took bus #19 to Stanley Park, saving energy for the extensive exploration ahead. 🦅 Stanley Park's Iconic Totem Poles & Views Visited the stunning Totem Poles, marveling at their detailed craftsmanship. Captured memorable views of Lion's Gate Bridge, Grouse Mountain, and bustling park life—cyclists, horse-drawn carriages, and frequent seaplane activity. 🌉 🍇 Surprise Discovery Found wild blackberry bushes—an invasive species familiar from our time in Argentina—adding a personal twist to our adventure! 🍛 Evening Relaxation: Korean Food & Rest 🍲 Authentic Korean Dinner After a busy day, relaxed with flavorful Korean dishes—Dolsot Bibimbap and Sundubu Jjigae—comfort food reminding us of past travels in Korea. 🛏️ Restful Night Returned to our hotel exhausted, packed up, and recharged for our next adventure. 🚢 Next Adventure: Cruising to Alaska! 🛳️ Embarking on the Norwegian Sun Wrapped up our Vancouver visit, excitedly preparing for our Alaska cruise aboard the Norwegian Sun.
