If you haven’t been to Gananoque, fall is probably the best time to go and experience it! Just a few hours outside of Toronto and you get a quaint little artsy town that is the gateway to the 1000 islands (one of my favourite spots in Ontario). I was just there and the leaves are about to change colour, so the next month or so will be a beautiful fall escape. Here’s my Mini Break guide to Gananoque: DO: A @citycruisescanada tour is a MUST. The 100 Islands is such a unique and beautiful part of Ontario and you get to see it on a cruise. My 3-hour signature cruise took me through the islands, under the bridges and even past Boldt Castle. The cruises are running through October so you can catch the fall foliage too. 🚢 Wander King Street in Gananoque for your local shopping, art galleries and good eats. 🖼️ And catch a play at Canada’s only dockside theatre @thousandislandsplayhouse—they have big name productions and smaller shows as well, but book in advance! 🎭 EAT: @docksidegananoque is perfect pre- or post-cruise for burgers, fish ’n chips, homemade soups, and don’t forget the ice cream! 🍦 @laverneseatery has that quintessential weekend brunch and amazing weekday lunch. 🥗 Pistachio’s Cafe is an artsy, cosy little cafe with great lattes and freshly made sweets. ☕️ STAY: @trubyhilton is perfect for families, @gananoqueinn is right on the waterfront and has old school charm, and the @bestwestern just did a renovation and is also great for families or groups! #discoverontario #minibreak #gananoque #1000islands #citycruises
