Honest reviews of Durban’s Golden Mile Hotels plus a comparison against the uMhlanga true tourist area! I was recently on vacation in South Africa and we decided to head out to the East Coast, to Durban & its surrounding area. Later this year, I’ll be taking a cruise from Venice to Durban, and we are all planning to have a few easy nights right after the cruise, before heading out on Safari’s and next vacation plans. My husband (Dean) & I went into the Golden Zone one day, and simply walked up to a bunch of hotels, to see what their rooms looked like. Some were planned visits, while others were spontaneous, because the hotel looked good from the outside & you never want to miss a hidden gem!
