Ever wondered what’s lurking beneath the Inverloch Jetty? Today we got lucky and spotted some of the biggest Smooth Stingrays (Bathytoshia brevicaudata) we’ve ever seen! These gentle giants are a local icon in Anderson Inlet, often cruising right up to the pier to see what’s happening. Some of these rays can grow up to 2 meters wide and weigh over 300kg! It’s incredible to see them gliding so gracefully through the shallow Victorian waters. If you’re heading to Inverloch, the pier is a must-visit spot for wildlife watching—just remember to keep a respectful distance and enjoy the view!
