The Bahamas travel advisory was recently updated—but was the warning level actually raised? And is Nassau safe for cruise passengers who want to explore beyond the cruise port? In this video, I break down what the U.S. State Department advisory really says, why the Bahamas remains at Level 2, and how that compares with the latest crime statistics from the Royal Bahamas Police Force. While major reported crime declined in 2025, travelers are still being advised to exercise increased caution, especially in Nassau and Freeport. We will look at the difference between an updated advisory and an increased warning level, whether tourists are commonly targeted, and which risks are most relevant to cruise passengers. That includes concerns involving independent jet-ski operators, watercraft rentals, taxis, unverified tours, isolated beaches and unfamiliar areas after dark. Have you visited Nassau recently? Did you walk independently, use a taxi or take an organized cruise excursion? Share your experience in the comments and include approximately when you visited. #nassaubahamas #BahamasTravelAdvisory #CruiseSafety #NassauCruisePort #CruiseTravel ✅Check out my other channel * Prepper Potpourri https://www.youtube.com/@PrepperPotpourri * where we discuss emergency preparedness, have fun cooking new recipes, and test Prepper and cooking gear.
