Seven days cruising the Mekong River from Vietnam toward Cambodia—and this was only our first excursion. From the AmaDara, we traveled by tender into Cái Bè, walked through the village, passed homes and local markets, visited Mr. Kiet’s Historic House, and ended at traditional rice paper and candy workshops. What I enjoy most about travel is often what happens between the major attractions—the people, the river, the neighborhoods, and the everyday moments that show you how a place actually lives.
