BONAIRE’S BEST ADVENTURE!! 😎 🦩🫏

🌴 BONAIRE SOUTH LOOP GOLF CART ADVENTURE! 🇧🇶🦩🫏 If you’re visiting Bonaire on a cruise, one of the BEST ways to experience the island is to grab a golf cart and explore at your own pace! We rented our cart from Bonaire Cruisers, located right in Kralendijk near the cruise terminal, and headed out to experience the incredible SOUTH LOOP OF BONAIRE! Bonaire Cruisers And WOW… what an adventure! 🤩 The South Loop takes you through some of Bonaire’s most spectacular scenery, including turquoise Caribbean water, beautiful beaches, the famous salt flats, historic slave huts, the Willemstoren Lighthouse, flamingo habitat and the rugged southern coastline. The route is a perfect combination of Bonaire’s natural beauty, wildlife and fascinating history. (Bonaire.com) 🫏 WILD DONKEYS! One of our favorite moments was getting up close with Bonaire’s famous wild donkeys — and YES, we even FED THEM! 🥕😂 Getting that close to these friendly island residents was definitely something we’ll never forget! 🦩 FLAMINGOS UP CLOSE! Then came one of Bonaire’s most iconic sights — FLAMINGOS! We saw these incredible pink birds around the salt pans and flamingo habitat. The Pekelmeer area is an important breeding area for Caribbean flamingos, making this one of the most memorable wildlife experiences on the island. (Bonaire.com) 🧂 THE FAMOUS SALT PANS The southern part of Bonaire has been producing salt for centuries. You’ll see enormous salt mountains, colorful evaporation ponds and the landscape that helped make salt one of Bonaire’s most important industries. (Bonaire.com) 🏚️ THE HISTORIC SLAVE HUTS The South Loop also takes you past the small coral-stone huts built in 1850 for enslaved workers who worked the salt pans. These tiny structures provide a powerful reminder of the difficult and painful history behind Bonaire’s historic salt industry. (Bonaire.com) This was one of the most important historical stops of our entire drive because you’re not just seeing beautiful scenery — you’re seeing physical reminders of Bonaire’s past. 💡 THE WILLEMSTOREN LIGHTHOUSE At the southern tip of the island stands the historic Willemstoren Lighthouse, dating back to 1838. It remains one of Bonaire’s most recognizable landmarks and provides an incredible backdrop overlooking the Caribbean Sea and salt pans. (Bonaire.com) 🏖️ PINK BEACH & THE SOUTHERN COAST We also experienced the incredible coastline and beautiful Caribbean scenery around Pink Beach, with crystal-clear water, coral landscapes and some of the most beautiful views Bonaire has to offer. 🚙 And the BEST part? Having a golf cart meant we could stop when we wanted, explore at our own pace, take pictures, see the wildlife and really experience Bonaire instead of simply driving past it. If you’re coming to Bonaire on a Carnival, Royal Caribbean, MSC, Norwegian or other cruise ship, consider getting off the ship and exploring the island yourself!
