I Can't Believe How Bad Costa Maya Has Become
Today we're visiting Costa Maya, Mexico, a port that used to be one of my favorite stops on a cruise — but this visit was VERY different. The Costa Maya I remembered seems to be disappearing. The aviary is gone, several shops are closed, and some of the attractions that made this port special are no longer there. Is this just part of the port changing, or is something bigger happening? Thankfully, the famous Costa Maya Flyers were still there, and they're still one of my favorite free experiences at this port. After heading back to Star of the Seas, the day takes an unexpected turn when we decide to go ice skating — something I hadn't done in more than 20 years! We also meet up with friends, find some cruise ducks, watch karaoke, play a hilarious game show, and even find lobster at the Windjammer before heading to Chops Grille for dinner. It turned into one of those cruise days where absolutely nothing goes according to plan! 🚢 Thanks for sailing along with us! 00:00 What Happened to Costa Maya? 00:30 Good Morning from Costa Maya 00:53 Breakfast & Heading Ashore 01:03 The Costa Maya Flyers 03:47 Costa Maya Has Changed 04:33 Where Did Everything Go? 05:24 The Costa Maya Flyers Are Still Here 06:04 Back Onboard Star of the Seas 06:55 Ice Skating After 20 Years! 07:40 Pizza, Friends & Karaoke 08:32 Think or Sink Game Show 09:29 Time to Rest 09:36 Lobster at the Windjammer?! 10:18 Chops Grille 12:16 Dinner Review 12:19 Cruise Duck Hunting 12:41 Getting Ready for the Dance Party 12:59 What a Day!
