6 Royal Caribbean Predictions for 2027
Six Royal Caribbean predictions for 2027, built only from what the cruise line has already announced, built, and told its investors. Gratuities, Hero of the Seas, the Discovery Class, Icon 5, Alaska, and the way you'll pay for your next cruise. None of this is a leak. I grade my own confidence on every call: one I'd bet the house on, one I wouldn't put much money on, and a few in between. Keep score and tell me in the comments how many I get right. 🛳️ This video is sponsored by Cruises It, a team of Dream Vacations and CruiseOne travel advisors. Royal Caribbean hasn't announced an increase. Its daily gratuity is $18.50 per guest in standard cabins and $21 in suites, unchanged since November 1, 2024. Carnival, Princess, Holland America, and sister line Celebrity all raised their rates in 2026. My prediction on where Royal Caribbean's rate lands is in the video. What is Royal Caribbean's Discovery Class? Royal Caribbean confirmed the Discovery Class in January 2026. It's designed to replace the aging Vision and Radiance class ships and is sized to fit the Panama Canal and ports that Icon and Oasis class ships can't reach. The first ship hasn't been named, but Royal Caribbean's own history points to a strong guess. What is the new venue on Hero of the Seas? Royal Caribbean's March 2026 announcement says Hero of the Seas' Surfside neighborhood will host hands-on cooking classes in a new venue "to be revealed." The company hasn't said what it is yet. Is Royal Caribbean building a private destination in Alaska? Nothing is announced. In June 2026, Royal Caribbean opened a $137 million cruise terminal in Seward, Alaska, signed a 30-year anchor-tenant deal, and homeported Ovation of the Seas there. All of its current private destinations are warm-weather beach clubs. Where will Icon 5 sail from? Royal Caribbean started cutting steel on Icon 5 in January 2026, with delivery due in summer 2028. It has no announced name or homeport. Miami, Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, and Galveston are already claimed by other Icon Class ships. ▶️ WATCH NEXT 6 Things Royal Caribbean's CEO Refuses to Change: https://youtu.be/21bQ4f4ehuE Everything in this video about 2027 is my own prediction, not confirmed information from Royal Caribbean.
