During the warmer months, land and marine iguanas breed because their eggs need warm soil to incubate, while giant manta rays and other rays become more common in the warmer seas. Even the smaller birds behave differently. During the dry season, food is scarcer, so Darwin’s finches spend more time feeding in the open and can be much easier to spot.
