Don't Pack These 17 Items on Your 2027 Cruise!
If your cruise leaves in the final months of 2026 — or you're already booked for 2027 — do not finish packing from an old cruise checklist. Cruise lines have been changing prohibited-item policies, adding new electronics, tightening cabin rules, and warning guests about things that may be perfectly legal at home but illegal at the ports they visit. Some items can be confiscated. Others can hold your luggage for inspection. And a few can turn into something much more serious after you walk off the ship. Important: These are not all universal bans. Some apply to one cruise line. Some depend on your destination. And because 2027 is only a few months away, the policy you read when you booked may not be the policy in force when you finally board. In this video, you'll learn why these 28 items are prohibited or restricted: Cabin-door decorations, over-the-door organizers, and balloons Realistic toy guns and replica weapons Laser pointers Collapsible wagons Smart glasses with cameras and microphones Bluetooth and portable speakers Fire Stick, Roku, Chromecast, and streaming devices Baby monitors, fans, humidifiers, and white-noise machines Camouflage clothing in certain countries Reef-toxic sunscreen on certain itineraries Vapes, e-cigarettes, and hookah equipment Prescription medication restricted abroad Travel routers, satellite phones, and communication scanners Drones Motorized luggage, hoverboards, and self-balancing devices Damaged or swollen lithium batteries Pool noodles, inflatable floats, and hammocks Power strips, surge protectors, and extension cords Heat-producing appliances (heating pads, irons, kettles, steamers) Homemade, pre-cooked, and perishable food Water and soda packed under the wrong cruise line's rule Alcohol and smuggling devices Oversized coolers Flowers, plants, fruit, and agricultural items Pocket knives and multi-tools Pepper spray, tasers, and self-defense devices CBD gummies, oils, and medical marijuana Shells, coral, and protected natural souvenirs Cruise lines referenced in this video: Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian, and Holland America.
