Is the Specialty Dining Cover Charge Actually Worth It?
Specialty restaurants on a cruise ship almost always come with a cover charge, and most people never actually sit down and run the math on what that charge is buying them. Try breaking a typical steakhouse dinner down into its real individual parts. An appetizer, an entree, a side, and dessert, each priced the way a restaurant back home would price them separately if you ordered them one at a time. Add those four numbers together, then compare that total against the flat cover charge you're paying onboard for the whole meal. Some nights, the math genuinely works in your favor and the cover charge is a legitimate deal. Other nights, you're mostly paying for the atmosphere, the service, and the white tablecloth rather than the food itself. Neither answer is wrong, but it's worth knowing which one you're actually getting before you book the reservation. Next time you book a specialty dinner, have you actually checked whether the courses add up to more than what you're paying? #CruiseDining #SpecialtyDining #CruiseTips #OnboardDining #CruiseTipsNTricks
