🇺🇸 MILITARY & VETERANS: You May Be Able to Skip the Regular TSA Line! Did you know TSA offers special security screening privileges for members of the military, veterans, and their families? At more than 30 U.S. airports, eligible travelers may have access to dedicated Military Lanes or front-of-the-line service at TSA security checkpoints. And here’s something many veterans may not realize: you do NOT have to be in uniform. At airports offering dedicated Military Lanes, simply present a valid military or veteran ID to access the lane. If the airport doesn’t have a dedicated lane but participates in the program, show your qualifying military or veteran identification to the TSA lane monitor and ask about available front-of-the-line service. For veterans, documentation matters. TSA says several documents can establish veteran status AND serve as acceptable identification, including: 🇺🇸 Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC) 🇺🇸 DoD Uniformed Services ID Card (USID) 🇺🇸 State-issued Veteran Driver’s License or State ID Other documents may establish your veteran status but require you to also present another TSA-acceptable form of identification. These include a Veteran ID Card (VIC), VA Proof of Service Letter, or State/County Veteran ID Card. If you’re a veteran flying soon, check whether your departure airport offers a Military Lane. This could make navigating airport security easier and potentially save valuable time—especially during busy travel periods. Travelers who need additional assistance through security can also contact TSA Cares at least 72 hours before their flight. As a U.S. Navy veteran, I love seeing programs that recognize those who served.
