Are They Pirates? Celebrity Eclipse Diverts for a Boat in Distress
Mid-cruise on Celebrity Eclipse, the captain came on the PA: we were making a 90-degree turn for a vessel in distress. His exact words — "we've been assured they are a small vessel in need of help and are not the Pirates of the Caribbean." So naturally we went and asked the crew what happens if they ARE pirates. What you'll see: • The captain's announcement, live • The ship altering course in open water • An extremely patient assistant beverage manager fielding our pirate questions • His actual defensive strategy (half Nelson, or full) • How many drinks you need before facing pirates (his answer: 17) The real story underneath the joke: under maritime law a master is obligated to render assistance to anyone in distress at sea. The boat had lost its engine and had been drifting. The mood on deck went from pool party to complete silence while the crew launched a tender — and then went right back to pool party. 🚢 Celebrity Eclipse, Caribbean Subscribe for cruise ship tours, port guides and honest reviews. 👉 Full write-up: https://mytraveljunkies.com/cruises/celebrity/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=eclipse-pirates&utm_content=description 👉 More reviews: https://mytraveljunkies.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=channel-footer&utm_content=description 👉 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/my.travel.junkies.2025 👉 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mytraveljunkie/ #CelebrityEclipse #CruiseShip #RescueAtSea #Caribbean #MyTravelJunkies
