People keep asking me… “Is Canyon Spirit worth it?” 🚂 Before this trip, I never really understood the emotional connection people have with train travel. Now I do. After experiencing Canyon Spirit — from the same company behind Rocky Mountaineer — something just clicked for me. There’s something completely different about seeing the world from a train. The mountains. The rivers. The quiet moments between destinations. It forces you to slow down and actually EXPERIENCE the journey instead of simply rushing through it. Our route took us through Denver, Glenwood Springs, Moab, and Salt Lake City, following historic rail paths that helped shape the American West. Traveling through these landscapes makes you think about the explorers, settlers, and railroad workers who crossed these same rugged regions searching for opportunity and adventure. And honestly… the entire experience immediately made me think about Alaska cruisers who add Rocky Mountaineer after their cruise ends in Vancouver. Because if Canyon Spirit made me feel this connected to the journey, I can only imagine what it feels like winding through the Canadian Rockies toward Banff and Lake Louise. Those towering peaks and turquoise lakes officially moved WAY up on my bucket list. 🏔️ Some trips are vacations. Others become part of your story. So yes… Canyon Spirit was absolutely worth it.
