We decided to book a Royal Caribbean-organised excursion to Kyoto to see just how well it works in reality. Our day took us to two of Kyoto’s most iconic sights: the breathtaking Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its seemingly endless avenues of vibrant red torii gates, and the stunning Arashiyama area, including the picturesque bridge and the magical bamboo grove. While the locations themselves were unforgettable, this was a very rushed day. Poor organisation and tight scheduling meant we felt short-changed on time at these incredible places, leaving us wanting so much more.
