While visiting Half Moon Cay, we had the opportunity to talk with a Carnival worker who lives on nearby Eleuthera in the Bahamas. She told us about her daily commute, including getting up at 4 AM and taking a boat for about an hour to reach Half Moon Cay for work. In this conversation, she shares what it's like to live on Eleuthera, how the worker boat operates, her experiences working at other cruise destinations, and some interesting facts about the islands. She also talks about Half Moon Cay's cruise ship traffic and the changes that were being planned at the time we filmed this conversation, including the new pier and additional development that have since opened. This conversation was filmed in late 2025, before Carnival's new pier opened. At that time, Carnival guests were still arriving by tender, while Holland America ships continued to use the tender process.
