Originally debuting on May 13, 1992, Fantasmic! has been amazing guests for more than three decades and has become one of the most beloved shows in Disneyland history. What makes it so special is that it combines live performers, Disney characters, breathtaking special effects, water projections, music, pyrotechnics, and massive floating sets into one unforgettable nighttime experience. The story takes place inside Mickey Mouse's imagination. As the Sorcerer's Apprentice, Mickey dreams that he has the power to control water, light, and magic. But his dream soon turns into a battle against some of Disney's greatest villains, including the Evil Queen, Ursula, and the powerful Maleficent. In the end, Mickey discovers that imagination, courage, and hope are stronger than evil, creating a magical finale that has delighted millions of guests over the years. The show runs for approximately 25 minutes and takes place along the beautiful Rivers of America in Frontierland. You'll see giant mist screens with stunning projections, dancing fountains, colorful lighting, incredible fire effects, and even the iconic Mark Twain Riverboat filled with dozens of your favorite Disney characters. Every scene is synchronized with an unforgettable musical score, making Fantasmic! one of the most immersive nighttime experiences you'll find anywhere in a Disney park. It's easy to see why this show has become a Disneyland tradition. Whether it's your very first visit or your fiftieth, Fantasmic! is one of those experiences that truly captures the magic, imagination, and storytelling that Disney is famous for. Because Fantasmic! is one of Disneyland's most popular nighttime shows, many guests begin saving their spots along the Rivers of America one to two hours before showtime. If you'd rather spend that time enjoying attractions instead of sitting on the pavement waiting, Disneyland offers several Fantasmic! Dining Packages, and in our opinion, they're definitely worth considering. These packages combine a meal at one of Disneyland's participating restaurants with access to a reserved viewing area for Fantasmic!, giving you a much better view without having to camp out for hours. After your meal, you'll receive a voucher telling you exactly where and when to return for the show. The reserved viewing section is located right along the Rivers of America and offers an excellent view of the performance. Just keep in mind that the standard reserved viewing areas are still ground seating, so bringing a small cushion or portable seat pad can make the experience even more comfortable.
