After sailing with Norwegian for nearly a decade and a half, we break down what is included on Norwegian Cruise Line, what costs extra on NCL, and where we think the line between an optional upgrade and true nickel-and-diming should be drawn. We look at complimentary dining, the buffet, The Local and O’Sheehan’s-style venues, included drinks, pools, hot tubs, fitness facilities, youth programming, entertainment, and ship-specific activities. Then we get into the extras: specialty dining, beverage upgrades, Starbucks, the spa and thermal suite, Vibe Beach Club, shore excursions, Wi-Fi upgrades, casino spending, photos, shopping, laundry, room service charges, and daily service charges. We also break down how NCL Free at Sea changes the value equation, including specialty dining, beverage-package costs, Wi-Fi minutes, and shore-excursion credits. From there, we look at Free at Sea Plus and NCL Latitudes Rewards to show why the real question isn’t simply whether Norwegian sells extras—it’s whether those extras are necessary to have a great cruise and whether the math makes sense for the way you travel. In this video, you’ll learn: • What is actually included in an NCL cruise fare • Which Norwegian Cruise Line extras cost more • How NCL Free at Sea changes the overall cruise value • When Free at Sea Plus may make more sense than buying upgrades separately • How Latitudes Rewards can reduce or offset costs for repeat NCL cruisers • How to tell the difference between an optional upgrade and a genuine hidden-fee problem Our mission at Elevate Motor Co Travel is to help cruisers enjoy 5-star travel on a 1-star budget by showing you what’s worth paying for, what isn’t, and where the real value is.
