Should You Leave the Costa Maya Cruise Port? We Did… | Carnival Jubilee

2027 Carnival Festivale: https://www.petwaytravel.com/grouptrips What up, Stress Free Nation! 🚢🌴 Today we’re pulling into Costa Maya, Mexico aboard the Carnival Jubilee, and we’ve got one big question: Is it better to stay inside the Costa Maya cruise port, or should you leave the port and head to the beach? There are only two cruise ships in port today, so we’re hoping the crowds won’t be too crazy. We start the morning with breakfast at Bagels at Sea, hide a few cruise ducks around the ship, and then make that LONG walk down the Costa Maya pier. 😂 Once we get into port, we check out what’s changed since our last visit before heading outside the cruise port toward Mahahual Beach. Our original mission was to find a restaurant recommended by one of our subscribers…but after walking about a mile and having absolutely NO luck finding it, plans changed! 😂 That’s how we ended up at The Crazy Lobster, where we tried tacos, a beef burrito, guacamole, Mexican sodas, lime water, and more. And we’ve got to say…the food surprised us! We also talk about some of the things you can find outside the Costa Maya cruise port, including inexpensive massages, restaurants, shopping, and beach spots. But after spending some time exploring, we started wondering: Is Costa Maya still worth getting off the ship for? The port is changing, construction is happening, and our experience wasn’t quite the same as some of our previous visits. Then it’s back aboard the Carnival Jubilee for the rest of the night! We check out Soulbound, squeeze in an official “over 40” nap 😂, break out the gear, and head to Carnival’s 80s Party—and THIS time we actually stayed for the whole thing!
