Our first-ever Disney Cruise Line vacation brings us to Disney's private island in the Bahamas for an unforgettable day of tropical exploration. On this episode of our Disney Wish series, we are sharing what might just be our favorite day on any cruise ship ever as we dock at the legendary Castaway Cay. We start our morning with a quick breakfast and coffee fuel-up at Marceline Market before stepping off the ship to see if this famous private cruise port lives up to the massive hype. To get around the island, we rent bicycles to cruise down the iconic 2,400-foot tarmac runway trail, stop at the 47-foot observation tower for stunning mangrove views, and check out the adult-only oasis at Serenity Bay. From reviewing the Hangar 98 beach barbecue and Cookies buffet options to exploring the island's exclusive merchandise shopping and scouting out the best quiet beaches, we cover everything you need to know for the perfect Castaway Cay port day. The island adventure is only half the fun because the excitement continues back on board the Disney Wish for the cruise line's legendary Pirate Night at Sea. Before the festivities begin, we head up to the pool deck to ride the Aqua Mouse water coaster to see how it compares to other cruise ship aqua coasters. Then, the entire ship transforms with pirate-themed music, custom stateroom bandanas, and a completely immersive atmosphere. We showcase our best pirate outfits, review the exclusive pirate-themed main dining room menu, and take you along for the family-friendly Mickey and Minnie's Pirates of the Caribbean deck show.
