Join us on this adventure — or let Erin and Phil book the same experience for you, personally! We started ABC Trips to offer our bespoke itineraries to those seeking authentic culture, epic landscapes, and uncompromising luxury. 👉🏼 https://abctrips.com/trips/arctic-norway-orcas-auroras Would you willingly jump into frigid Arctic waters to swim beside wild orcas while they hunt? If so, you’re invited to join us on a private yachting expedition off the coast of Norway this November. That’s the time of year when the sun never quite rises in the Arctic. Just a few hours of blue twilight each day, and auroras dancing overhead on every clear night. They call this experience “rewilding.” Because for nine of us, it’s gonna be a week-long escape from the warmth of our comfort zones. Here’s how it goes. We land in Tromsø, Norway, check into a warm hotel for the night, and wander the city just long enough to keep the jet lag from winning. The next afternoon, we head to the marina and step aboard the Arctic Dream, a private luxury expedition catamaran with four ensuite queen cabins. Erin and I call dibs on one. The other three are open for six guests who want to come with us. Colt will claim one of the jack bunks, just like our crew. That crew, by the way? Cruise and Storm. Two Norwegian brothers, lifelong adventure-seekers, and the owners of Magnetic North Expeditions. They built this trip. They run this boat. And for seven days, they’ll take us to places few humans ever see. For the first three days, we’re in whale country. Humpbacks, yes, but we’re in search of the orcas. When conditions are right, we pull on drysuits and slip into the frigid water beside them. These are wild orcas. Mid-hunt. In their own Arctic feeding grounds. There’s nothing else like it on this planet. We’ll take the polar plunge above the Arctic Circle. We’ll warm back up in a portable sauna. One night, we’ll head ashore on a remote beach. We’ll pitch a twelve-person teepee with a wood-burning stove inside. Reindeer stew simmers over an open fire. And if conditions allow, we’ll dig a snow cave deep enough to actually sleep in. The next day, we slow it all down. Snowshoeing across the white silence. Maybe more sauna time. One last full night under the polar sky. Then we return to Tromsø. Stay an extra night or two if you want. Wander the city with us. Visit the wooden cathedral. Take the cable car up the mountain. Then fly home with the memory of a week that won’t leave you for a long, long time. Early November 2026. Just three guest cabins. Hosted by the Lockwoods. If you’ve ever felt like modern life was making you soft, this is the one.
