OLDEN Norway DIY - Loen Skylift on the €4 Local Bus - Saved £100! | P&O Aurora
Join us in Olden, Norway on P&O Aurora's Fjords cruise - we show you how to do Loen Skylift DIY for half the ship's price! After breakfast on board Aurora we took the local shuttle bus from the pier (right next to the ship) to Loen Skylift. 10 minute ride, buses every 30 minutes on cruise days. We paid 325 NOK each for the shuttle only as we already had Skylift tickets - total about £53pp vs £79 on the ship. Incredible views at the top - 1011m above the fjord - even on a cloudy day the views down Lovatnet and over Olden are just amazing. You can see Aurora down in the fjord! After lunch back on board we walked into Olden village itself to find the two churches. The red church is the new Olden Church built in 1934 and holds 500 people. The white church is the Old Olden Church from 1759, the only cruciform church in Nordfjord. Our daughter Elin visited it last year on Iona so we came to look for her message in the visitors book. Back on board for a shower and change, then up to the Crow's Nest for a drink while we sailed out of Olden - don't miss the sail-away, the fjord views are incredible! Full costs on screen.
