What is the best excursion in Flåm, Norway? Today on our P&O Arvia Norwegian Fjords cruise we hire a Renault Twizy and explore one of the most beautiful cruise ports in the world. Join us as we explore Flåm, Norway, one of our favourite ports of call on our P&O Arvia Norwegian Fjords cruise! After waking up to the spectacular scenery of the Norwegian Fjords, we head ashore from P&O Arvia to collect something we've been looking forward to for months... a tiny electric Renault Twizy! With mountains towering above us and waterfalls around every corner, we set off on a self-drive adventure through the beautiful Flåm Valley. Despite a few rain showers (and a slight handbrake mishap!), this turned out to be one of the most unique and enjoyable ways we've ever explored a cruise port. Along the way, we watch the famous Flåm Railway pass through the valley, soak up some truly breathtaking scenery, and discover why Flåm continues to be one of our favourite stops in Norway. Back in the village, the adventure continues with a ride aboard the local sightseeing train, incredible views of Arvia sitting beneath the towering fjord mountains, and a return visit to the atmospheric Viking Brew Pub for a well-earned beer tasting. Later, it's back on board for a relaxed afternoon, sail away through the stunning Aurlandsfjord, and dinner at Sindhu, P&O Cruises' Indian speciality restaurant. With dramatic scenery outside the window and fantastic food on the table, it was the perfect way to end another unforgettable day in Norway.
