Here is a preview of what we cover in this video: Lobster night is largely gone from mainstream main dining rooms. Norwegian pulled it fleetwide. Princess offers it inconsistently. Even Disney Destiny dropped it from its most upscale restaurant on its newest ship. In-person muster drills have been replaced by e-muster on most major lines. Your app is no longer optional. It is a required tool for dining reservations, shore excursion bookings, daily schedules, and the safety drill itself. Free cabin upgrades, once a genuine perk for loyal cruisers, have been replaced by bid-based upgrade programs that generate revenue for the cruise lines. Spotty WiFi is history. Starlink has transformed connectivity at sea. Streaming, video calls, and social media are now realistic onboard expectations. Unlimited drink packages are not as unlimited as they sound. MSC caps its package at 15 drinks per day. Princess counts alcoholic and premium non-alcoholic drinks together toward its 15-drink limit. Read the fine print before you buy. Formal nights have faded to smart casual suggestions on most ships. Only a handful of lines still enforce a dress code in any meaningful way. Refundable fares used to be the default. Now the advertised low price is almost always non-refundable. Travel insurance and working with a certified cruise planner matters more than ever. Rigid assigned dining is gone. Norwegian started it, and today virtually every major line offers flexible dining in some form. And the most controversial disappearing act on the entire list? Stick around for number 20. Cruising is still one of the best vacation values on the planet. The ships are bigger, bolder, and more ambitious than ever. But the savviest cruisers are the ones who understand exactly what has changed, what is included, and what now costs extra before they ever step onboard. That is exactly what Heidi and I are here to help you do. #CruiseChanges #CruisingIn2026 #EatSleepCruise What Has Changed in Cruising in 2026 0:00 20 Things That Have Disappeared From Cruising in 2026 0:30 Lobster Night 1:25 In‑Person Muster Drill 2:00 Cabin Upgrades and Service 3:35 Formal Night & Dress Codes 5:40 Tipping Envelopes 6:45 Terrible Cruise Ship Internet 7:40 Cruise Line Inclusions and Benefits 11:20 Rigid Dining Schedules 12:25 Cruising Flexibility 15:55 Stale Cruise Shows 16:50 Smoking in Public Areas 17:40 Rooms Without a View 18:45 Getting to Disconnect 19:45 Cruise Etiquette --TRENDING VIDEOS FROM EAT SLEEP CRUISE------ Best Cruise Ships of 2026: https://youtu.be/X1dhNISRnLk Best Cruises for Couples: https://youtu.be/fenNj5GmLdM Cruise Essentials We Always Pack: https://youtu.be/xa-0mxKWkeo The Cruise Rip-offs https://youtu.be/cjbKOLTVStQ Join us on Social Media as we “Sea the World, One Port at a Time.” Instagram: https://instagram.com/EatSleepCruise Facebook: https://facebook.com/EatSleepCruise Twitter: https://twitter.com/EatSleepCruise TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@eatsleepcruise Pinterest: https://pinterest.com/EatSleepCruise Affiliate link: Some links above may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you.
