24 Hours in Boston Before Our Holland America Cruise | Freedom Trail, Food & More
Our Canada and New England cruise is officially underway... well, almost. Before boarding Holland America's Volendam, we flew from Edmonton to Boston and gave ourselves a full day to explore the city. And we packed a LOT into it. We started with a walking tour of Boston's Freedom Trail, learning about the history of the American Revolution and visiting some of the city's most famous historic sites. From there, things slowly turned into an eating tour through Boston's North End. Pizza at Regina Pizzeria, Boston Cream Pie at Bova's Bakery, a walk through Quincy Market, and somehow we still found room for ice cream later. We also explored Boston Common, the Public Garden, the Seaport, did a little unexpected shopping, found some Yorkie goodies, and apparently became very invested in the local squirrel population. Oh, and before we even left Edmonton, Holland America sent us an offer we couldn't refuse. We upgraded our interior stateroom to an obstructed ocean view for only $50 CAD each.
