Holland America Is Adding a 12th Ship: Meet Arcadia
Big news from Holland America Line: the fleet is growing. In 2029, Arcadia will transfer from P&O Cruises to Holland America, bringing the fleet to 12 ships and adding another Vista Class vessel alongside Oosterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam. And Arcadia has an interesting history. She was originally designed for Holland America before plans changed during construction and she ultimately entered service with P&O Cruises in 2005. Now, more than two decades later, she is finally making her way into the Holland America fleet. Before entering service, Arcadia will be transformed as part of the Holland America Evolution program, which is bringing significant updates to the Vista and Signature Class ships. What we do NOT know yet is where Arcadia will sail. Holland America says deployment and additional design details will be announced in the coming months. More ships means more capacity, more itinerary flexibility and potentially some very interesting new options for Holland America travelers. So where would YOU like to see Arcadia sail? Alaska? Europe? Longer Legendary Voyages? Somewhere completely different? Let me know in the comments.
